According to Newton, Massachusetts Fire Department officials, a man attempting to clear his driveway of snow this past Tuesday morning lost his finger in a snow-blower personal injury accident.
The injured man was taken to the Newton-Wellesley Hospital emergency room after 911 dispatchers received a call at around 10:30 a.m. on March 19. The caller reported that a man had his finger amputated while using a snow-blower at his home on Commonwealth Avenue. The injured man is currently listed in stable condition at the hospital.
The National Weather Service reported that the Town of Newton had received 6 inches of snow as of 5:45 a.m. on Tuesday, which likely prompted the man to bring out the snow-blower to attempt to remove the snow at his residence.
