Drivers should always be paying attention while driving. While unquestionably true, this becomes even more important when the weather creates less than ideal road conditions. The winter months often bring heavy snow and ice storms in a majority of states, making the roads slick, which can lead to more motor vehicle accidents. If you become a victim of an accident involving snow and ice, you should turn to one of the experienced car accident personal injury lawyers or expert snow and ice personal injury attorneys here at the Law Offices of Gilbert R. Hoy, Jr. and Affiliates to help guide you through the process.
There was a winter snow storm that moved across the state of Missouri during the Easter weekend which caused the road conditions to become dangerous and almost undrivable. This forced local police departments to respond to multiple car accidents. One such accident involved an SUV, that apparently had flipped onto its side, while driving northbound on Summit Street in Douglas County, Missouri. When first responders arrived at the scene, just before 4:00 p.m., they saw a man and a woman coming out from the overturned vehicle.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol sent out a tweet indicating that officers had responded to more than 30 calls involving around 20 crashes. By the end of the day, Police Chief Terry Zeigler followed up the events by noting that officers had been called to 27 total motor vehicle accidents caused by the snowy road conditions. One of the accidents involved a trooper who was responding to another accident.
